Over the years, patients have said that they wish they could undergo minimally invasive cosmetic procedures under local anesthesia or awake. That is why Blush Medspa & Laser has made the decision to bring PRO-NOX™ into their practice, providing a state-of-the-art level of comfort to meet their patient’s wishes.
The ProNox aesthetic system provides freedom from pain and anxiety associated with aesthetic procedures. Fifty percent nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas is mixed with fifty percent oxygen to deliver a quick effective analgesic. The system is designed to give the patient total control on how often they choose to administer it. The gas mixture is delivered through a single-use disposable tubing with a mouthpiece. ProNox has quick onset, usually within the first several seconds of administration. After using ProNox, there is no downtime - the mixture is cleared from the body within minutes. This safe and effective tool is highly rated by our clients.
We are very excited to be able to offer this cutting-edge technology for our patients at Blush Medspa & Laser! Normally patients are given some type of oral anxiety or pain medication to help them relax during treatments however, since those medications stay in the system for an extended period of time, the patients need someone to drive them to and from their appointments. These medications can also have some minor systemic effects on the body. With Pronox, these issues do not exist and the effect of the gases resolves after 8-10 minutes from last use so it is ideal for use during these short minimally invasive procedures, allowing our patients to have no side effects and to drive themselves immediately afterwards.
+ What is Pronox?
Pronox, also known as "laughing gas," is a safe mixture of 50/50 nitrous oxide and oxygen used to help minimize anxiety and discomfort during aesthetic treatments. It provides a sense of euphoria that is patient controlled, zero to minimal side effects, safest type of anesthetic that can be used without any lingering effects. This device will allow patients to undergo procedures under local anesthesia with minimal awareness, which in turn will allow patients to be more comfortable and to also receive optimal results due to having a higher tolerance from their level of comfort to maximum treatment efforts.
+ What procedures can Pronox be used for?
Pronox can be used for virtually any aesthetic treatment. We highly recommend most of our patients use it for Morpheus8 and Morpheus8 Body and dermal fillers.
It can also be used for IPL Photofacial, Laser Hair Removal, Microneedling, Botox, or anything that may cause anxiety or discomfort.
+ What can I expect while using the Pronox system?
A new, indvidually packaged sterilized breathing tube, hose, and nose clip is used for every single patient at each visit. The patient will sit or lay on their treatment table and be asked to take in 6-8 deep breaths and exhale using the tube. After about 3 breaths, you will start to feel some of the effects and after about 6 breaths, you should feel some euphoria. The system is patient controlled which means the patient will take breaths as desired throughout their treatment. The effects after each breath usually last about 8-10 minutes so the patient does not constantly have to breathe in and out through the tube.
